Back to the garden...

I took so many photos in my Aunt's garden, that I decided to split it up into two posts.  So here are the rest of the pictures!

Kiss Nail Dress

I have another Influenster review for you!  One of the complementary items that I received for testing and reviewing purposes in my Influenster "Love VoxBox" was Kiss Nail Dress.  The design that they sent me was sparkly black and silver crackle.  Here's a picture of the box and its contents:

I was so excited to try these nail strips! I see them all the time in stores and magazines, but I just haven't got around to trying them until now.  I was surprised how easy the instructions are!

You start off with clean, smooth nails, then you choose a strip size for each nail from the various sizes provided in the box. (Each package includes 28 strips in 14 sizes!) Once you choose a size for the nail, you stick it a little above the cuticle and smooth on your nail.  The strips are very long to fit any length of nail, so you will need to smooth it over the tip of your nail and file off the excess strip with the provided nail file.

You can also check out the YouTube video from Kiss Nail Dress on how to apply the nail strips:

Be sure to check out more tutorial videos on http://kissnaildress.com/

I am going to warn you that your first try might not be very easy, but don't let that scare you away from trying again.  The main problem I had was that a couple of my nails weren't sticking at the tip and I was worried about them peeling off.  So guess what??  I figured out a solution!  I recommend using a quick coat of clear nail polish over the top of the strips after you apply them to your nails.  They work either way, but I feel like they are more secure with the polish over them.  (Don't worry, the clear polish doesn't ruin the sticker or make the design blurry!)

As you can see, they turn out very nice!  Included in the package is a nail design booklet, for a little inspiration to customize the nail strips. (There is also a look-book on their website)  Click here to check out more helpful tips and FAQ's.

I really like how cool the design looks.  I will definitely be buying another design to try soon!  Next time I think that I will try them on my toes too!  They have 18 styles to choose from, but there are endless possibilities, considering that there are so many ways to customize them!

Have you tried nail strips yet?  If so, what do you think of them?  What are your nail strip tips?

xoxo,
Danielle

Nail Dress’ suggested retail is $6.99 and is available in all major drug chains and mass retailers like WalMart, CVS and Walgreens.

Welome to the garden...

This past month has been absolute craziness!  I've been back and forth to LA and have tons of photos to share with you.  I went to visit my aunt for a couple of days and I just have to show you her garden!  Not just any ordinary garden full of flowers, trees, bushes, fruits or vegetables.  Her garden is full of cacti!!  Depending on where you live, it's not everyday that you get to see something like this.

An opportunity of a lifetime...

Blogger's Wardrobe.  Remember that name!  This is an amazing website that caters to an exclusive community of bloggers.  Belonging to this website would open some unbelievable opportunities for me.  Let me explain to you why...

Blogger's Wardrobe is like "fashion blogger dreamland" providing its members with access to free designer clothes, accessories, electronics, and even invitations to fabulous parties and fashion weeks.  AMAZING, right?!  But I'm sure you might be wondering why they would give such things to bloggers?

Bloggers have the advantage of creating a "relationship" with their readers.  Sure, I may have never met some of you.  But if you've read this far, you already know a few things about me, if you continue reading, you'll learn a bit more.  If you leave me a comment, I'll read it and know what you like/don't like about my blog and if you have a blog, I'll check it out.  Blogging is really a huge cycle.

Let me briefly tell you why I started blogging...
-To show you a little bit about myself and my personal style, along with my journey to be successful in the fashion industry.
-To connect with and learn about other fashionistas across the globe.

If I was chosen to be a member of Blogger's Wardrobe, it would benefit us all!
-How would it benefit me?
This membership would open doors for my blog, introducing me to new brands, bloggers and opportunities.
-How would it benefit you?
Who doesn't love having a heads up on the latest fashion trends and must-have products and brands?  Let me do the work, you can read all about it. :)
-How would it benefit the brand/company?
I can be a promoter and supporter by showcasing their product to my friends, family, and readers.

If I had a Blogger's Wardrobe membership, I could specifically choose the products that I'm interested in so that they would still be a reflection of me and my style.  That's really what it is all about and there's no better promoter than a real person that can live in a brand and relate to it.

Now to the fun part... PICTURES!!!
Blogger's Wardrobe is connected with many brands, but here are a few brands that they work with that really caught my eye:

How fabulous are these shoes?!  This puts a whole new take on "ice-braker"!  Finsk shoes have been worn by celebrities including Rihanna and Lady Gaga.  It definitely takes some major confidence to wear these shoes. (And some good balance!)  But this is just an example of one of the amazing brands that Blogger's Wardrobe represents.  If I was chosen as a member of Blogger's Wardrobe, how crazy would it be if I could get my hands on a pair of these?!  Enough said. :)

I could have posted tons of pictures from this brand, but I decided to just pick out a few outfits from the Spring 2012 Lookbook.  Although, I highly recommend clicking the GESTUZ link (above) to go to their website and view some of their other amazing lookbooks.  They are chic and elegant, but still have a bit of a rock n' roll vibe.  This brand looks well made, which can be very hard to find lately!  I would love to be able to wear some of their clothes.

This is a Danish brand that I have never heard of before and I have fallen in love with their jewelry!  What makes this brand even better is the quality!  Every single piece is handmade, hand painted and hand assembled.  Pilgrim uses plating with either 925 sterling silver or 16 carat gold on all items!  Fabulous!  Here are a couple of pieces that I especially liked...

So what do you think?  Have you heard of these brands before?  There's probably at least one that is new to you.  Wouldn't it be great if I could continue to introduce new brands to you?  The best part is that I could give you my honest opinion about how these products really are, because we all know that what you see, isn't always what you get...

I hope that you are all as excited as I am!  I am now finishing my application to become a member of Blogger's Wardrobe.  Let's keep our fingers crossed that I qualify for this amazing opportunity!

xoxo,
Danielle

Dreaming of Spring.

Hello again!  I have taken quite a long break from blogging due to lack of inspiration and a very busy schedule, but I'm back!  I am so excited to show you some new looks that I've put together.  I also have a little surprise coming for you in the next couple of weeks ;) so I'll be updating you on that very soon!  In the meantime here's a look that I put together a few weeks ago...

The Beauty Queen

Teen Vogue Fashion University Seminar #3 - Jessie Powers

Make Up For Ever is a beauty brand known for it's high-performance makeup.  I got the opportunity to attend a seminar hosted by Jessie Powers, the Make Up For Ever National Educator.  I have always said that if for some reason fashion didn't work out for me, my next interest is beauty.  I think it is amazing how one product can have so many uses and outcomes.  Makeup really is a form of art.

The one and only, Michael Kors.

Teen Vogue Fashion University Seminar #1 - Michael Kors

You've seen him on Project Runway, you've seen his clothes, shoes and accessories, have you ever wondered what it would be like to actually SEE Michael Kors??  I am still in complete shock that I was in the same room as Michael Kors.  I honestly don't even know where to begin.  Let's start with the basics.  This was my first seminar at Teen Vogue Fashion University.  Michael Kors was the keynote speaker for TVFU 2011, so unlike most of our seminars, everyone attended.

Happy New Year!

The holiday season has come and gone way too quickly.  Unfortunately, I didn't make many posts.  The holidays are my favorite time of year, and this year I feel like it just flew by.  But I would like to share a few pictures from Christmas and New Years.
