New York

Time to tell you more about New York! Continuing on with my Acceptance to TVFU post... After my grandpa and I arrived in New York, we dropped off our luggage at the hotel and then decided to be really touristy and take a double decker bus tour.  It has been a few years since I have been there, so was really nice being able to spend time with my grandpa on his first visit to the city.  I absolutely love the architecture there, the buildings and skyscrapers are just gorgeous.

Thanksgiving

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I am most thankful for my family.  They are so loving and supportive, I don't know where I would be without them.  This year I spent Thanksgiving with my Mom, Dad, Grandpa, my two little sisters, Melissa and Lauren, and of course my adorable little dog, Bella.

Acceptance to TVFU

It's that time of year again.  One of the busiest times of year, that is.  I am in shock that we are already in November, is Thanksgiving already this week??  This year has gone by so fast!  As you all probably know, I have just recently jetted off to New York!  I am so excited to finally be able to share this amazing experience with all of you.  I apologize for taking so long to post about it, I have been extremely busy with school, fashion club, and all of the little things that fall in between.  I also just wanted to build a little bit of anticipation... ;) But here it is... My experience in New York! (The first one at least.  I don't think I'll be able to fit my whole experience in one post.)
Let's start from the very beginning.....

Halloween

Unfortunately, I have been extremely busy and as you can see, have not posted about New York yet.  I am currently working on those posts right now.  I had an incredible time there and I want to make sure I share it all with you!  I'm going to Los Angeles this week, so I am hoping to get my first post out as soon as I get back.  In the meantime, let me share with you a few pictures from Halloween...

I'm back!

It feels like it's been so long since I have made a blog post!  This is about the time of year when things start to get pretty hectic.  I just got back from New York, where I attended the Teen Vogue Fashion University!  It was such an amazing experience.  While there, I managed to take about 1500 pictures... since it would be nearly impossible, and a little overwhelming to share that with you, I have decided to do separate posts on the places I visited along with all of my Teen Vogue seminars.  I must warn you that I have some pretty exciting things to post... so stay tuned :) I will hopefully be making my first New York post next week.  As for now, I have to put the finishing touches on my Halloween costume!  What are you planning to be for Halloween??  Happy Hallo-weekend!

xoxo,
Danielle

I'll be posting about New York VERY soon! If you haven't yet....

Black

As much as I love color, I have a ton of black pieces in my wardrobe.  I love it because it's such a classy color.  I spent my 3 day weekend painting the guest house with my parents.  I probably looked really lost, but I don't think I've ever made so many trips to the Home Depot and Lowe's in one week!  (And I don't know if I ever will again.  I don't think I fit in there too well.)  By the end of the weekend I was so exhausted.  Nothing gets me feeling better like dressing up. (Or shopping!) And my freshly painted wall was the perfect backdrop for my simple black outfit...

Other than painting the guest house, so many exciting things have been happening......

AAU Fashion Show!

This May, I attended the Academy of Art Graduation Fashion Show.  It was so much fun, I always love taking a trip to the city.  Before the fashion show we got to walk the red carpet and enter the style contest.  The best part about going to SF is dressing up, you can get away with so much more than you can here in the valley.  Although I did decide to tone it down a bit, this time.  The fashion show was just a couple weeks after I got my new Burberry bag, I definitely had to tote it along!  So I kept my outfit to neutrals.

Summer Daze.

I can't believe that in only a few weeks, summer will be over.  Summer has gone by so fast and I'm not ready for it to end!  So I decided to put on my new little white sun dress along with my favorite pair of Chanel sunglasses and enjoy this 90 degree weather.

College just started up a couple of weeks ago and I am finally working my way towards my fashion career!  This is all so exciting and inspiring for me.  I am already learning so much...

Last night in Mexico....

For the past month, I have been exploring the large city of Guadalajara.  It has been one of the craziest experiences of my life.  I have submerged myself into the Mexican culture, which was much harder than I thought it would be.  I learned a lot of new things.  I experienced new traditions, new places, new food, new everything.... It really puts a whole new perspective into how I view my life.  Before I came here, I thought it would be easy adapt to this culture, but I was completely wrong.  Living here for the past month has been like living in a daze, it has been a whole new world.  A world that I don't understand or relate to.  It has opened my eyes, making me appreciate so much more and feel fortunate for what I have.  I can't even explain how hard it has been for me these past few weeks.  Especially considering I don't have and Mexican background and don't speak spanish.  All I can say is that

A night at the Ballet...

Last weekend, Angelic and I went to the ballet at the Degollado theatre in downtown Guadalajara.  Which is one of the oldest aristocratic theatres in town and it was absolutely GORGEOUS!  Especially at night because it was illuminated it colorful lights.  We went to see an international ballet, so there were ballet dancers from around the world.  It was a great show!

Isn't it beautiful??

Goodbye, California... Hello, Mexico!!

My best friend, Angelic invited me to spend the summer with her in Guadalajara, Mexico!  Our adventure began Sunday, around 3:00 am at the airport...

After a long day of traveling, we were absolutely EXHAUSTED! We have been blaming our light nights on jet lag... and its out 4th day.

So here's a little sneak peek at my next post:

Frolicking through Benicia.

I don't know how many posts it will take me to share with you how much fun I had with Jenae and Angelic on our Benicia getaway weekend... but here's post number two! After exploring through town a little, we went to see our room at The Union Hotel. First of all, let me say that Angelic's mom and grandmother did an amazing job decorating our room.  (I will post pictures very soon!) After admiring our room, we decided it was time to get busy with our first photo shoot of the trip. We were digging through our jam packed suitcases as fast as we could before we lost sunlight. After we perfected our outfits we headed out toward the beach! Jenae, who was the most sensibly dressed, in her white pants and button up.  Followed by Angelic, in her super bright floral mini skirt and bandau top. And then there was me, trailing behind in my black mini, rose tank and super high stilettos.  We were pretty much the entertainment of the night, the talk of the town, and the most fashionable things to hit Benicia.  (That night at least.) After we made our way down the street, and after my numerous times of yelling at Jenae and Angelic to slow down,   We finally reached our destination....THE BEACH! Then, as I was ready to kick off my stilettos... We found... Weeds.  They actually turned out to be a nice backdrop for our photos.

I have a ton of beach pictures, so I'll just have to save them for my next post.  Until then....

English Garden

About a month ago I went to a cute little town called Benicia for one of my best friends, Angelic's birthday.  I was so excited to spend the weekend with her and my other friend, Jenae.  Our first stop was at a tea house for afternoon tea.

I love dressing up, and how can you not dress up for a tea party?  As I slipped into my dress, I couldn't help but think about how cool it would be to actually have tea parties on a regular basis.  If only I could take a trip to England...

After tea, we stopped at the Benicia capitol and stumbled upon a gorgeous garden.  It was a great place to have a little photo shoot.

A little something about me...

I have always had a passion for fashion.  When I was little I loved dressing up my barbies, and dressing up myself.  I have been shopping at my favorite department store, Nordstrom, since I was in diapers.  For as long as I can remember, I have always known that I belong in the fashion industry.

I am not exactly sure what kind of career in fashion I would like to pursue, but I am currently interested in styling, PR, and event planning.  One thing that I am so grateful for is to be a member of the Nordstrom Fashion Board.  I feel like it has opened so many doors for me and it is helping me learn more about fashion and what it involves.  It is all so exciting.

Over the past few years I have found myself becoming much more creative in what I wear and how I think.  I always find myself gazing into store windows and admiring displays.  I have even started attempting sketching out my own designs and creating mood boards.  I love how reading fashion magazines and looking at ad campaigns can inspire me to create something of my own.

I hope I can inspire you too :)
